Elena Cobăsneanu has led the periodical "Observatorul de Nord" since its establishment in 1998, initially as an administrator before becoming the newspaper's director in 2008. A graduate of "Ion Creangă" Pedagogical University in Chișinău, she began her career as a pedagogue-speech therapist at a kindergarten in Soroca before transitioning to journalism. Her professional development includes numerous journalism internships both in Moldova and internationally.

Throughout her career, she has played a significant role in Moldova's media landscape, serving multiple terms as president of the Independent Press Association (API) from 2004-2006 and 2021-2024, while also holding several positions on the API Board of Directors. Her management was recognized with the "Best Manager within API" award in 2003, and she achieved second place in the same competition in 2015. She works alongside her husband, Victor Cobăsneanu, who serves as the chief editor of "Observatorul de Nord."

    Elena’s husband and the editor-in-chief of the publication "Observatorul de Nord."His journalism career began in 1986 when he became a correspondent for "Moldpres" and "Nezavisimaia Moldova." For the next decade, he worked simultaneously as editor of the Soroca district newspaper and regional correspondent for the republican newspaper "Moldova Suverană." He later served as spokesman and advisor to the prefect of Soroca County from 1998 to 1999. As a columnist for "Vocea Bessarabiei" radio, he expanded his media presence. His professional development included internships across multiple countries including Romania, the United States, Poland, Belgium, and the Baltic states. His journalistic excellence earned him several national awards. A member of the Union of Journalists from Moldova, he was named Honorary Citizen of Soroca Municipality on August 21, 2013.
