Dmitri Voloșin

Dmitri Voloșin describes himself on his blog as a "businessman, director, athlete, public figure, inventor, designer, and investor." Born in 1974 near Odessa (Ukraine, then USSR) at a military unit, he was raised by his father, a military officer, and his mother, a music teacher, both originally from Orenburg, Russia. The family later relocated to Moldova.

After completing his studies at the Technical University of Moldova, Voloșin began his career producing commercials and music videos for artists. He then ventured into web development, creating several successful websites including gsm.md, 999.md, and forum.md.

In 2002, he founded Simpals, a diversified company with interests in multiple sectors, including online media with platforms such as Stiri.md and Point.md, animation through a studio specializing in 2D, 3D, and VR content, and digital marketing under the Numbers digital agency. The company also operates in the entertainment industry via the afisha.md ticketing platform and has expanded into the energy sector, establishing a solar power plant and partnering on a network of electric vehicle charging stations.

Beyond these core businesses, Voloșin, through the Simpals group, maintains ownership of various other companies and web properties. He currently serves as the president of Moldova's Triathlon Federation.
