The LLC "Ziarul de Gardă" was founded in 2004 by Alina Mazureac (Radu) and Aneta Grosu. It is known for publishing the most influential investigative weekly newspaper in the Republic of Moldova, also called Ziarul de Gardă. Additionally, the company manages the website www.zdg.md, one of the most popular media sites in the country.

Every Saturday morning, Ziarul de Gardă broadcasts a summary of the week’s most important news in the show "Săptămâna de Gardă," and on Sundays, it publishes the "ZdCe" podcast in video format. The editorial team also produces important investigations and reports in video format.

Moreover, the newsroom manages a Russian-language website (www.zdg.md/ru) that features key articles from the Romanian version. As of August 2024, the newsroom has accounts on most social media platforms, including a Telegram channel with over 14,000 subscribers.

FounderAlina Mazureac

Alina Mazureac, (a.k.a. Alina Radu) born on August 24, 1967, is a Moldovan journalist with more than 30 years of experience in the press. She is the executive director of Ziarul de Gardă and the director of "Media Guard", an organization active in the field of journalism, media ownership transparency, access to information for public interest.  

She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Chișinău State University, and later went on study visits to more than 50 countries on 5 continents. She started her career in 1989 on the news program "Mesager" on National Television. Later she worked for Catalan TV, the "Flux" press group and the IDIS "Viitorul" organization. In 2004 she co founded Ziarul de Gardă, the first investigative newspaper in Moldova. 

She has been training journalists since 2003 at the School of Advanced Journalism Studies of the Independent Journalism Center and at training programmes organized for journalists by UNICEF, UNDP; UN WOMEN, Independent Journalism Center, Independent Press Association, and Amnesty International. She holds numerous awards in the field of journalism and has worked with various media outlets abroad on cross-border investigations.

Alina is the executive director of Ziarul de Gardă and the director of "Media Guard", an organization active in the field of journalism, media ownership transparency, access to information of public interest to journalists.



Aneta Grosu

Aneta Grosu is a journalist and co-founder of "Ziarul de Gardă," with over 40 years of experience in the field. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology, specializing in journalism, at the State University of Moldova in 1979.

Her career began at State Television in the News Department, where she was part of the team that launched the first news program of independent Moldova, "Mesager." She later worked at the first independent television station, "Catalan," and contributed to the newspapers "Flux" and "Accente." Following that, she founded "Ziarul de Gardă," where she served as editor-in-chief. Over the years, Aneta Grosu has received several national and international journalism awards. In 2009, she was awarded the Order of the Republic for her outstanding contributions to freedom of expression and her significant role in the national revival and promotion of democracy and human values. In 2014, she was honored by Romanian President Traian Băsescu with the National Order "For Merit" at the rank of Officer.

Aneta Grosu served as president of the Association of Independent Telejournalists, later renamed the "Media Guard" Association, of which she remains a member. She was editor-in-chief of Ziarul de Gardă until November 2021, after which she transitioned to a role as a reporter and ombudswoman for the publication.

Her husband, Petru Grozavu, is also part of Ziarul de Gardă, working as a political reporter and columnist.

Aneta Grosu

Journalist and co-founder of "Ziarul de Gardă," Aneta was the editor-in-chief from 2004 to 2021. Before that, she worked at National Television and at the newspapers "Flux" and "Accente," where she also served as editor-in-chief. Since 2021, she has been the reader ombudswoman for Ziarul de Gardă and a member of the Media-Guard Association.



Victor Moșneag

Investigative journalist with over 15 years of experience in the press. He briefly worked in the sports department of Publika TV, a former Moldovan news station. He has been the editor-in-chief of Ziarul de Gardă since November 2021, having served as deputy editor-in-chief from 2012 to 2021.



Anatolie Eșanu

Investigative journalist with over 10 years of experience. He previously spent four years in the broadcasting directorate of Jurnal TV, one of Moldova's leading TV stations. Since February 2021, he has managed the video department of Ziarul de Gardă and holds numerous national awards in investigative journalism.



Olga Bulat

Social journalist and explainer with over 13 years of experience, Olga holds a master's degree in philology. She worked for several years as an academic assistant at "Alecu Russo" State University in Bălți. Since 2015, she has been the editor of the Russian version of Ziarul de Gardă, and since 2021, she has served as deputy editor-in-chief.



Aliona Cenușă

Financial manager and accountant with over 18 years of experience. She previously served as Deputy Head of the Economic-Financial and Planning Department at the National Center for Personal Data Protection for eight years, and as Head of the Economy and Investment Attraction Section at the Fălești District Council for four years. She specializes in monitoring, financial management, organizational development, and the creation of organizational documents and policies. She has been the financial manager at Ziarul de Gardă since December 2017.
