Emilian Crețu was an actor at the Eugen Ionesco Theater and simultaneously worked as a makeup artist and hairstylist at Jurnal TV when, in 2015, he launched a Facebook page named "Da sunt român" ("Yes, I'm Romanian"). On this page, he posted humorous videos, sketches in which he portrayed various characters, and parodies of well-known figures from Moldovan showbiz and politics. One of his most popular characters is Mrs. Dora, a middle-aged, unreserved, straightforward, and provocative woman. The page quickly gained popularity, and in 2017, Emilian Crețu launched his own show on Jurnal TV, titled "Dora Show," based on the character he had popularised.

Also in 2017, he left the Eugen Ionesco Theater amid controversy, accusing the theater's management. Emilian Crețu is popular with both children and adult women. However, the party did not list him as a candidate. Crețu brought the issue to public attention, and, although he had been a declared supporter of PAS, he voiced criticism toward the party. This controversy led PAS to reconsider and ultimately nominate Popa as its candidate for mayor of Negureni.
