Alexandru Sîrbu

Alexandru Sîrbu is known to the public in Moldova as a former majority shareholder of Sun Communications (Sun TV), a cable TV and internet operator sold to mobile operator Orange in 2016. At the time of the transaction, Sun TV was one of the largest cable operators in Moldova. Currently, Alexandru Sîrbu is associated with several companies and owns 80% of Selectcanal-TV SRL, which manages the N4 television channel. Another 10% is owned by his son, Eugeniu. His wife, Galina, was co-owner of a company that held a share in the company that managed RTR Moldova television channel, whose license was suspended in December 2022 and subsequently withdrawn at the founders' request.

The Sîrbu family members hold shares in several companies whose activities include real estate, telecommunications, representation of local and foreign television channels in Moldova, video post-production (translation, subtitling, dubbing), and online commerce.

Affiliated Interests Family & Friends	Eugeniu Sîrbu Eugeniu Sîrbu, son of Alexandru Sirbu, owns 10% of Selectcanal-TV LLC, the founder of N4. Eugeniu Sîrbu is a partner in several companies, including Radio-Star LLC, which represents more than 150 local and international TV stations in Moldova. He is also co-founder of the studio "The Kitchen Moldova", specialized in translation, subtitling and dubbing of video productions. Until December 2023, Eugeniu Sîrbu was a partner (50%) and administrator of Jevise LLC, which holds the broadcasting license for Agro TV. Galina Sîrbu Galina Sîrbu, wife of Alexandru Sîrbu, was co-owner of a company that held a share in the founding company of RTR Moldova, whose license was suspended in December 2022 and later withdrawn at the request of the founders. John Maxemchuk John Maxemchuk, the current administrator of Selectcanal-TV SRL and general director of N4 television, is a long-time business partner of Alexandru Sîrbu from the period when both were active at Sun Communications, where Maxemchuk served as director. Originally from the USA but settled in Moldova for many years, Maxemchuk was the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham Moldova) between 2006 and 2012. From 2017 to 2019, he was Chief Operating Officer at Purcari Winery. He became general director at N4 in December 2022.
